Drakborgen - The Secret of Ath Ungol (for Dragonbane)

The mighty wizard T’siraman’s castle, known as Drakborgen, is located on the mountain Ath Ungol, north of Mirkwood. No one knows for sure if T’siraman is alive or dead, but it is rumoured that a wraith haunts his castle. According to legend, the castle’s riches are the result of his lictors, a title for the faithful bodyguards men and women who plundered neighbouring villages on behalf of T’siraman. Many also speak of a curse that rests on Drakborgen. Whatever the truth, few have returned from there alive.

In 1985, Drakborgen, a board game adventure created by Jakob Bonds and Dan Glimne, was released and quickly became a classic. In 2022, Drakborgen was brought back to life through a spectacular Kickstarter by Fandrake, where one of the rewards was a role-playing adventure for Forbidden Lands. Now, this adventure has been updated and adapted for Dragonbane — and you are invited to explore its dangers!

The book is a 180-page hardcover in full color, richly illustrated with Anders Jeppson’s classic artwork and detailed, hand-drawn maps by the adventure’s author, Per Holmström, depicting every room in Drakborgen. As part of the Kickstarter for this book, a unique expansion of Drakborgen was unlocked—the Drakborgen world map! This stunning map, painted by Christian Lindqvist and based on an original sketch by Dan Glimne, is included with the physical book, offering even more opportunities to explore the world of Drakborgen in Dragonbane.
